Free 20 Minute Consultation

I offer a free 20 minute phone or video chat consultation to make sure we are a good fit for one another. Evidence-based therapy is backed by research that shows the relationship between the client and therapist is the most important aspect. This consultation gives us an opportunity to discuss your goals for therapy and how we can work together to meet them.

Private Pay And Insurances

Please call your health care insurance prior to scheduling an appointment to get information regarding what your insurance may cover. Calling your health care insurance is a beneficial way to familiarize yourself with costs for therapy as well as the number of sessions covered. This will vary based on your health care insurance.

Private Pay

Many clients prefer to choose their own care professional, rather than one dictated by the restraints of in-network managed care. This allows control over confidentiality and information released to insurance providers. They require a diagnosis for payment and keep records of treatment, which may not be beneficial to some clients based on their profession or other factors. I am happy to discuss your specific situation during your initial consultation.

Many insurance companies will reimburse a percentage of the session cost. Insurance plan coverage varies widely, so please check with your provider for specific coverage and rates of reimbursement. Helpful questions to ask your insurance company:

  • Do I have behavioral health coverage?
  • What percentage of my bill will be covered for services obtained by an out-of-network provider?
  • How many sessions will be covered per calendar year?
  • What is my deductible and has it been met?

If you choose to seek reimbursement, I will provide you with a “Super Bill” that lists your diagnosis and other necessary information. I can provide you with this statement weekly or monthly, which you are responsible for submitting to your insurance company.

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit cms.gov/nosurprises.

Cancellation/No Show and Rescheduling Policy

You may cancel or reschedule an appointment anytime prior to 36 hours of your scheduled session.

Please note that if an appointment is canceled with less than 36 hours prior, or there is failure to show up, the full session fee will be charged.

Any arrival 12 minutes after our scheduled start time is considered a no show and will need to be rescheduled.

Following 2 late cancellations or no shows rescheduling will not be an option.  However you will be welcome to call at the beginning of each week to inquire if there is an open session available to schedule.

Under certain situations we can discuss the options to meet virtually if unable to attend an in-person session.
